The finishing hole is a good one and requires a straight drive on the fairway bunker or just right of it to leave the ball in the fairway about 140 yds. away. Bunkers guard the green and this up hill approach requires a solid iron to get it there. Best to hit a longer club into the green and keep the approach out of the front bunkers.

I played a nice drive over the bunker and had 140 to the green then a solid 8 iron on and 2 putted for another 35 on the back nine for a great round of 70… two under par from the back tournament tees. One of my best rounds on the South at Makena.

Best tip: Drive over the fairway bunker is a long hitter or safe to the right, second shot is up hill and take one more club to reach.
