South Hole
9 560
yards Par 5 A
good par 5 to finish the front nine, this hole is reachable with a perfect
long drive as the fairway goes downhill about 260 yards out into a valley before
hitting into a spilt fairway around the green. Aggressive players should hit Drivers
right down the middle and hope to catch the slope for the opportunity to fire
at the green with a 2 wood or long iron if you hit it long enough. Average
players should decide if they want to use the Driver or play safe with Fairway
Wood as any miss directions with the Driver puts you in the lava and unplayable.
After getting
it in the fairway, the second shot is a choice. Lay up short left between the
bunkers that border the fairway which leaves you about 100-120 yards, or take
a more aggressive play to the right of the green and have a 40-60 yard chip shot.
Again this is a sure risk/reward par 5 as the aggressive player can go for the
green with two well-played shots and come away with birdie or play it safe and
get a easy par. I
was hitting the Driver good and took it long down the middle and caught the down
slope and got a 300 yd drive and had 250 yards to the green. I hit my 4 wood to
the front of the green about 40 yards out and chipped up to 6 feet and made birdie
to shoot 35 on the front nine. 1 under par. Best
Tip: If you are hitting the Driver well take it long and straight down the
middle and to the green, but keep it a little right of the bunkers on the left
and get your birdie to start the back nine. To
