South Hole

yards Par 5
The first Par 5 on the South is a great hole offering a challenging a dog-leg
right drive over bunkers, followed by a long downhill second into a small valley
with lava walls on both sides, then a short approach shot to a well-bunkered green.
This spectacular 600 + yard downhill hole is unreachable in two unless you're
Tiger. The second shot offers great views of the ocean centered on Molokini Island,
which is your target for the second shot lay-up with a long iron or fairway wood.
I played a good drive down the left side, laid up with my 5 wood to 110 yards,
put my approach shot 10 feet from the hole and made a birdie. Yes! Back to even
par. Best
Tip: Play your drive to the left over the first fairway bunker, then look
for the small island of Molokini and play your second shot at the island. To
