yards Par 4
This is one of the best holes on the first nine. It needs two well-played
shots to reach this uphill par 4. On the tee you see a large lake that is not
in play but about 200 yards out are series of bunkers just past on large lava
gulch that runs across the right side. This is your major menace and you must
avoid it. Play up the left side and this will reward you with an uphill approach
that requires a solid mid iron. This green has a false front and it's best to
play an extra iron. The green has a backstop in the rear and will roll most long
shots back to the center. I
put my drive up the left side and had 175 to the pin. I hit the green about 50
ft away and 3-putted. Bogey! Back to three under. Oh well, golf is not a game
of perfect. Best
Tip: Play your drive left away from the bunkers. A long hitter can fly them,
but any weak drive finds the bunkers or worst the gulch. The second is all uphill
and requires an extra club, and two if trades are blowing. Play smart here and
take a par. To
